Hayward Interactive Retail Kiosk Program

Hayward Pool Products, Reality Interactive, and Metaline built a scalable interactive kiosk program—200 units planned—with bitSHUTTLE® Kiosk Secure Mode, Born in Store activation, and dealer-specific product discovery without location-specific hardware staging.

The challenge

Hayward wanted its web-based product finder in physical dealer locations—200 interactive touchscreen kiosks to start, with room to grow. Each unit needed a secure, branded experience with product information relevant to that dealer, across countertop, slatwall, and freestanding fixtures, without pre-configuring hardware for every destination.

Traditional location-specific staging would have tied inventory, shipping, and software setup to individual dealers. Hayward needed standardized devices that teams could distribute on demand and assign at installation.

The solution

Reality used bitSHUTTLE® Kiosk Secure Mode to run Hayward's existing Partner Portal product finder full screen on 15.6-inch all-in-one touchscreens—no standalone kiosk app rebuild. A branded attract loop plays when idle; the product finder launches on touch, with browsing locked to the intended experience.

Reality's Born in Store model lets installers pick the dealer during a guided setup flow after the device is on the network. bitSHUTTLE® associates the kiosk with that location and its product assortment. The same hardware can be reset and reassigned as the dealer network changes.

Deployment

Reality defined hardware requirements and worked with Metaline on fixture fit for multiple merchandising formats. Devices were bulk-registered and shipped to Metaline for inventory held until Hayward requests units.

Hayward's regional representatives and dealer teams handle field installation; Metaline fulfills hardware and mounts. Initial field testing placed 14 units in Hayward offices—the broader rollout proceeds on demand as dealers request kiosks.

Integration

Each kiosk runs Hayward's existing website and dealer-specific product finder inside a controlled touchscreen shell. Reality worked with Hayward to pass a location identifier into analytics via UTM parameters, mapping devices to dealer locations for location-level reporting.

Reality's Lab keeps a representative fixture for testing and updates without depending solely on field hardware.

Outcome

The program combines touchscreen hardware, retail fixtures, secure kiosk software, dealer assignment at activation, and flexible fulfillment. Hayward can expand on its own schedule using the same configuration and Born in Store workflow.

Broader operational savings and shopper engagement metrics will be measured as the full rollout scales beyond initial field testing.

Ongoing support

Hayward manages field operations and technical support internally. Reality's ongoing role for this program is device online-status monitoring through bitSHUTTLE®—a modular service model where customers adopt the deployment and support capabilities that fit their teams.
